Friday 5

1. Not cool to leave your credit card sitting on a cash register at 1230 a.m. I didn't miss it till the next day when I stopped at the drug store to buy TP of all things. Luckily I learned someone had  turned it in--but not before I had a major freakout.

2. I just tried to read a novel that started in 1911-ish...then proceeded to jumped back and forth between 2005, 1975, 1913, 2005, 1903, 1913, 2005, the seventies, etc. I managed to stick with it when it only involved two main characters. When a third was introduced, and stories-within-a-story were added, I almost threw it across the room. I refrained. It's a borrowed book.

3. Sunday is Orthodox Easter (or "Kosher" Easter as Grandma calls it.) I'm also church-hopping again, so I'll be visiting a new one that day.

       "OMG! That's Jen! In CHURCH!"

4. I'm guessing paper towels/napkins/etc. are perfectly digestible since Eli's been eating them on a regular basis. Paper currency he simply shreds.

5. I hope everyone has a great weekend!

I once found someone's ATM card in the parking lot of a drug store. I turned it in at the store. No idea if anyone claimed it or not. If it had been a credit card maybe I would have used it to make a few charges first...bwahahahahahaha. (Not really, I'd be too scared of getting caught.)

You are an honest man, Patrick!
PS This was at WalMart. I was terrified someone would use it to by $1,000 worth of size 12 thongs.

Man, you're lucky you got that card back!

Good luck on your church-hopping. Hopefully you settle on one worth sticking with soon. :)

Thanks, Sarah, and yeah, Melodye, I have to agree. Anyway, the church thing didn't happens as I woke up with a massive headache this morning. Next Sunday! One thing about churches...they're always there next week.:)

There's no such thing as a 'perfect' anything in this world, but surely a church exists somewhere that suits your needs and keeps you guided, which is its purpose anyway. :)

I know that there is supposed to be a broader purpose, but again we live in an imperfect world. Now, I may view church differently than most because while I do attend myself, I don't think it's a necessity necessarily. I think your relationship with God personally is what's important and if going to church every week helps you keep that relationship in tact, then church is for you, but if you can meet with a few friends every week with the same faith as you and reflect on your walk with God together, then that is basically the same thing without all the technicalities that comes with church sometimes.

For me, I enjoy going to church because I like the fellowship since I don't have a lot of friends in my life with the same faith. And we've finally got a pastor who doesn't preach at us, but rather teaches us the Bible's stories in a real life way like a class I actually want to attend. Our church still has its imperfections, sure, but the reward I get from attending is greater than the issues I have with the "system." And that was really the point. Finding the place that's benefits out-way the negatives because there just won't be a place that is perfect. Figure out what's most important to you and your relationship with God and find the place that will fulfill that need the best.

Lovely talking, btw. Thanks for the back & forth. :)

My mom lost her credit card once, and it never showed up again. (She canceled it, naturally.) Thank goodness yours was found!

Well, lesson learned: I will never do THAT again (though that's what I said about leaving my gas cap off)
