Tweetless Bceause...?

Well, a few weeks ago I was complaining about Twitter being a black hole for me.

I tweet. A couple select friends may occasionally tweet back.

I respond to other people's tweets. Mostly I do not get a response--and I don't even know if I should expect a tweet back. I mean, is there a Twitter Response Protocol I need to know about? Is it like a thank-you note? Yanno, you send the thank you note, but you don't expect anyone to thank you back for the thank-you note.

Nobody tweets me out of the blue. Well, Beth does. But usually we're sitting in the same room. :)

I am relatively tweetless in a Twitter world.

Today I found 13 Reasons Why You Didn't Get Followed Back. I realize now that I meet all the criteria but one: I don't tweet enough. Well, I don't tweet enough because NO ONE TWEETS ME BACK. It's a vicious circle. Maybe if I had real phone instead of this stupid throw-away Al-Quaida POS I would tweet more. Because seriously, keeping up with Twitter is a lot of work.

I have tweeted you!! But I only check in a couple of times a day, and just scroll back a hundred tweets or so. I had to start doing it this way because I was spending 9000 months a day on Twitter, which was so not productive.

You are one of my friends! I love you.

Yeah, I can see how addicting it could get. What a great time killer. Because, you know, we have so much extra time on our hands...!!!

If you would RATHER NOT DISCUSS IT, I completely understand.

I'd rather spend that time writing. Shoot, I don't even spend enough time touching base with the people I care about...like you. Sorry.

There are many times when I'd rather NOT write, lol. I can waste more time on forums and message boards than anyone I know. I justify it by the fact that these ARE writers' boards, though we often get far off the subject of writing. I guess if you do it instead of writing, then you might have a problem (unless, like me, you just decide not to write for a while). But I've learned to balance my play time with my work pretty well over the years. I would loooove to see you on FB more. :)

You're on Twitter? What's your handle so I can follow you? That would be a good first step.

Well, you won't be following much, haha. But it's Jeannine Garsee, my full name.

I'm there under my real name. But there won't be much to follow. :)

I hear you. It can be a time suck but it can also be helpful keeping our names out there. I spent today organizing my blogs and bookmarks. Tomorrow it's Twitter on Tweetdeck and Facebook friends into groups. Then I need to get disciplined about where and when I play online.

Discipline? What's that?

I need to do something about my addiction to Writers Net. And I'm not even there under my real name, lol.
