Pet PEEVE

My current one: a sign at work that says: RADIOLOGY/RADIOLOGIA

OK, is this really necessary? A Spanish-speaking person could not look at the English word and know what it means?

ARGH! Sometimes the smallest things reeeeally annoy me. Especially when I have to look at it every single day.

I used to work at Little Caesar's pizza where everything was double. Pizza Pizza, Pepperoni Pepperoni, Meatsa Meatsa, Supreme Supreme, etc etc.
Assholes used to call all the time and make fun of it.

I live in Ontario but near Quebec, and in Quebec it is such a big deal that the French word be first and considerably larger than the English, haha.

I drove up to Quebec once without knowing a single word of French (except for oui and non, lol) and within an hour or so I'd figured out a LOT of the signs.

I'm waiting for them to add ALTO on the stop signs around here...

That bugs me, too, when the words are really similar. Like Dentista. :>P

Wouldn't it make more sense to leave the signs in English and make people LEARN THE WORDS? Oh no.

Or maybe put a little picture next to the word? :>)

ha! I agree. But my mind was so far off the topic that my first thought on seeing that was, "why is the plural of Radiology spelled that way?" and, "Why do they have more than one radiology anyway?" :-D
