3 Day Weekend!

OK, LJ *did* look different yesterday and so did Twitter--both screwed up with bad formatting and absolute weirdness. But if no one else noticed, it must have been me. Or my awesome, ancient, ever-faithful laptop that tends to screw things up at the most inopportune times. Like my e-mail account.

Soooo, I am off for 3 whole days. Today was spent at Borders with brian_ohio where we worked on our stuff side by side the way 3-year-olds play in a sandbox. Except nobody threw sand, or pooped, or ran crying to their mommy. While Eyeball Man worked on revisions, I "almost" completed my synopsis for Rinn's Book #2 (RB2). Though it kind of looks like the psychotic ramblings of somebody who's been chained to a basement wall for way too long (have I ever mentioned how much I hate the "S" word?) most of it makes sense, and all I need now is an ending.

Yeah, an ending. So while I wait for this perfectly awesome and perfectly believable and perfectly NOT-contrived ending to pop into my brain, I've started the actual story and finished one chapter. What this means is that I'm writing Something New for the first time in 4 years, not counting LMB which now has a permanent place in the black hole on my hard drive. Funny how I'm not that broken up about it, either.

I'm so excited to be doing this, I'm even happy about my current word count:

A whole 521 words!

Time for a celebratory milkshake, dontcha think?

Sounds like a productive writing date. Also sounds like fun. The closest I get to a writing date is with my writing partner/best friend through IM. But that's still fun too.

YAY for writing something new and for the word count. Definitely time for a celebratory milkshake. What kind you gonna get?

I think a Javakula from the Borders cafe will do the trick. :)

Is LMB the IM one? I liked that one. Your grandkids can sell that one. "The Lost Novel of Newberry Winner Jeannine Garsee." It'll be like Little House on the Prairie and everyone will be like, "What's an IM?"

Yeah, that's the one. It's half rewritten. I had to change a lot of stuff, partly because another book v-e-r-y s-i-m-i-l-a-r came out last year. :(

I was just thinking last night about how much I miss Borders! I am jealous, much. And also happy to hear you're getting the fun, exciting Writing Something New-experience! Yay Jen!

I'm enjoying it! And writing a sequel is like visiting old friends.

Thanks for hanging with me. And these new, scent-proof, Adult Diapers really work... I pooped around 11:30 a.m. and you never caught a whiff. Whew!

You THINK I never caught a whiff. I was just too polite to say anything.
