Words About Grapemo

Thanks you to Melodye and Saundra and Patti and Kathie for the following! I will be drawing a name a random tomorrow morning and posting the winner. In the meantime, if anyone else wants to say a few words, I will add you to this post. :) xox

In light of how little progress I made, it might seem hypocritical to say that it’s been an invaluable experience. But it’s true—even when I wasn’t directly working on my writing, I made myself accountable to the goals I’d set. When I didn’t write, it was because I consciously decided to do otherwise. No lame excuses—just a slight adjustment, due to shifted priorities. And isn’t that what life is all about, really—mindfulness in every moment?

NaNo just doesn't do it for me, but there's something special about Grapemo. I finished my last book, last year, during Grapemo, as well. It's something special, to be writing with other writers, toward a meaningful goal, and I'm so grateful that you host it. Thank you so much!

Patti M

Grapemo was the perfect incentive to get back to my NaNoWriMo story. Though my Grapemo goals were perhaps a bit too lofty, I choose to remember the many days they WERE met and focus on that as I continue to move forward.

The Greek philosopher Socrates claimed he was like a ‘gadfly on the horse of the state’—so, Grapemo, for me, was--yeah-- like a teeny nagging fly biting my butt to convince me to give up my sworn allegiance to lifelong Couch Potatohood and DO SOMETHING ON THE NOVEL, d**nit! And I did—not as much as I planned, not as much as I hoped, but I worked out a thorny plot point and even did a little writing. Now that the bug has bitten, I AM more motivated to continue. Pass the calomine lotion!
